Gatō (ガトー, Gatō) was an early antagonist of the series and the founder of Gatō Company. He was a powerful businessman in the shipping industry, secretly a drug dealer and owner of a smuggling business. Gatō attempted to take control of the Land of Waves, utilizing the strength of mercenaries such as Zabuza Momochi, but was ultimately stopped and killed due to the efforts of Team 7, the citizens of the Land of Waves, and even Zabuza himself.
