About the franchiseEdit

Naruto is a manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the original story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja with great ambitions to be the Hokage (火影; Literally meaning "Fire Shadow"), the leader of the Village of Konohagakure. The story explores topics such as love, war, friendship, and adolescence, defining it as both a coming-of-age story and an epic tale. While it fits most in the action and adventure genres, the fantasy series also encompasses aspects of comedy and romance.

The manga was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from the 43rd issue of 1999 to the 50th issue of 2013, and collected into seventy-two tankoubon volumes by Shueisha. The series has become widley popular, habing spawned two anime adaptions, a series of animated movies, various video games, a series of original video animations, as well as light novels, reference material, and assorted merchandise.
